Now, more than ever, training, education and awareness are crucial for the groups of people involved in caring for those with dementia. 

SPECAL provides a range of courses and services to promote the lifelong well-being of people with dementia. Core to all of these is the concept of the SPECAL Photograph Album. We use this unique model to explain why and how lifelong well-being can be achieved. The point of entry for everyone is attendance at one of our SPECAL Photograph Album Introductory Days, which are tailored for three audiences. Our latest 2011 schedule can be accessed opposite.

  Designed with the needs of the main carer and their immediate support network in mind.

• SPECAL Pro
  Tailored for Health & Social Care staff who work in community, hospital and care home settings.

• SPECALMed
  An overview for Medical Practitioners, GP's and Consultants so that they can support patient families in adopting and implementing the SPECAL Approach.  
  

                        SPECAL Practitioner Training Programme

• The Practitioner Training Course is the basis of all SPECAL training: it provides an in- depth understanding of the Photograph Album enabling the delegate to present to a variety of audiences.
